Flipping Teacher Professional Development

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The craze for flipping classrooms has revolutionized the way we ‘do school.,’ from how we interact with parents to the very structure of classroom content and instruction. We have seen effective use of this approach in differentiation for student needs, encouraging more active learning classroom environments and developing strong skills in subject areas for students who otherwise might struggle. And the recent advances in technology (specifically network-based) really sets the stage for a wider adoption of this approach to learning.

What if we looked at how a flipped classroom model could be used for professional development? The presenters will be using pre-service teacher training in a traditional classroom environment to propose a different way of approaching teacher professional development, specifically in the development of learning technology integration skills.
