Welcome!

The VSTE Board of Directors and Conference Committee are excited to have you join us at the 32nd Annual Technology in Education Conference. #VSTE17 promises to be the best ever.

Use the schedule to plan your conference. VSTE will NOT be providing a printed copy of the schedule so if you prefer paper, please print your own. If you create an account with sched.com, you can save and share your favorites as well as print a personalized schdule.

IMPORTANT: While we encourage you to save and share, indicating interest in a session DOES NOT guarantee a seat in a session. All sessions, with the exception of Promethean’s Escape Room, are first come, first served.
Sunday, December 3 • 10:45am - 11:45am
Walking Dead, Apollo 13, and STEM PBL Awesomesauce

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Let’s rocket ourselves up to the R on the SAMR latter and together Redefine the way we teach. Get you and your student’s creativity superEmpowered with these imaginative, hands on, student centered activities. Set spark of deeper learning in your classroom with these examples of creative, collaborative projects.
I want to inspire you to challenge your own creativity when redefining your lessons. I will show you my way of introducing lessons with my own flair that creates interest and enthusiasm. We will talk about stop motion kinematics videos inspired by Mario Kart, and Guy Richie Movies (all shot on cell phones). Converting DC motors into electric generators with 3D printed wind mills and water wheels. Making a DC motor out of a battery, paperclips, magnets and wire. Cosplay demonstrations that bring presentations to life. And for the daring, you will be participating in my design brief that makes lights illuminate with school supplies!
There is no specific demographic for creativity and engagement but the topics I cover will be examples from my own high school physics classes.
