Mentoring the Super(Student)Hero: SuperEmpowering Student Learning

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

As teachers we often adopt the role of mentor-- providing the young hero with the wisdom, tools, and most of all, confidence to do something monumental on their own. We may have helped them by giving them the tools, but they will be the ones who have to use them. Our gratification comes when we see them take ownership of their learning and apply it in ways even we didn't know they could. This presentation will highlight ways teachers can employ tools such as Google Docs, Draftback, Google Keep, and Google Classroom to enhance the Super-Student's tool belt and create independent, self-regulated learners. We will focus on how these tools can be used in a project-based environment to support performance tasks and assessments and reflect the "5 Cs" of the well-rounded learner: critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and citizenship.
