Increasingly, the students we work with are too focused on social media, suspectible to fake news and enjoy too much time on apps. This results in student gaps in the right technology skills essential for Profile of a Virginia Graduate, coding and computational thinking SOLs college, career and life. MCPS is addressing this issue head on by ensuring our students are learning the right digital literacy skills. Please join me and learn how MCPS in partnership with Learning.com are better preparing our students with the right digital literacy skills. With new computer science standards coming, hear how we plan to address the needs.
