Moving Full STEAM Ahead

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Makerspaces, STEAM labs and fab labs are popping up in schools across the state. As educators we know how important it is to provide hands-on, creative ways to encourage students to design, experiment, build and invent as they deeply engage in science, engineering and tinkering. However, Finding the funds for resources as well as the time to allow this exploration in an environment which demands we stick to a pacing guide can be daunting. It can be done! In one month's time a challenge to raise $5000 to start a STEAM lab was successfully undertaken. Come find out how a small rural school division obtained funds and what they do in their STEAM Lab which the entire school fondly calls "The Collaboratory."
