Project Based Learning: Making learning visible with student created multi-media products

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The objective of this session is to describe how a Project Based Learning unit was developed to incorporate communication skills, reading comprehension, research, and writing. Attendees to this session will explore how students can investigate the real world issues around them and create a presentation of their learning. Attendees will be encouraged to think of the resources available to them and how those resources could turn into a PBL that works in their building. Collaboration among the four content classroom teachers, the Instructional Technology Coach, and experts in the fields of construction project management and humanitarian aide can result in learning opportunities that reach outside of the classroom. Some of the digital tools featured include WeVideo, Google Slides, Google Sites, QR Codes, and Tour Builder. The 5 C’s of 21st-Century education (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and citizenship) were utilized throughout the learning experience.

ISTE Standards include Knowledge Constructor 3c & 3d, and Creative Communicator 6a, 6b, 6c & 6d
