The VSTE Board of Directors and Conference Committee are excited to have you join us at the 32nd Annual Technology in Education Conference. #VSTE17 promises to be the best ever.

Use the schedule to plan your conference. VSTE will NOT be providing a printed copy of the schedule so if you prefer paper, please print your own. If you create an account with sched.com, you can save and share your favorites as well as print a personalized schdule.

IMPORTANT: While we encourage you to save and share, indicating interest in a session DOES NOT guarantee a seat in a session. All sessions, with the exception of Promethean’s Escape Room, are first come, first served.

No more sticky notes! Using Read2Grasp during Reader's Workshop with 1:1 devices!

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Read2Grasp is a new app that replaces the traditional reading strategy of text coding using sticky notes with the iPad! Teachers monitor student thinking through the web and provide feedback. Learn all the different components of Read2Grasp: student text coding using reading strategy, teacher feedback (praise and goal), student rating of submitted books, student writing opinions of books, class suggestion page monitored by teacher, and student access to peer review of books to choose their next book.
This session will show how to integrate the app into the language arts block. Use as part of a mini-lesson, during guided reading, or as tool for individual conferencing. Students use the app during independent reading time or Reader's Workshop and empower their own learning by using teacher feedback to reflect on their thinking and improving their reading skills.  Participants should bring a charged device to this session if possible.
